At Laburnum Primary School and Nursery, our aim is to provide your children with an exceptional, knowledge-rich curriculum that enables them to know and do more over time. Based in the heart of Sandy, our primary school and nursery offers an outstanding education, making us the perfect choice for your child to start their education.
Children can enter Laburnum Nursery at the beginning of the term that they become three years old. Parents who would like their child to be admitted to the school’s nursery should contact the school as soon as possible.
🌊 Cedar Class Visits Hunstanton! 🌊
Last Wednesday, our wonderful Year 2 children in Cedar Class enjoyed a fantastic day at Hunstanton! ☀️
The children had a brilliant time exploring the rock pools, building amazing sandcastles on the beach, enjoying a picnic with their friends, and, of course, finishing the day with a well-earned ice cream! 🍦🏖️🦀
As well as having lots of fun, the children made wonderful memories with their friends. Back at school, they reflected on their adventure by writing postcards home, sharing all of their favourite moments from a fantastic day by the sea.
We were also incredibly proud to receive several lovely comments from members of the public, who praised the children's fantastic behaviour and commented on the care and attention shown by our staff and parent volunteers throughout the visit.
It was a day full of smiles, learning and friendship. Well done, Cedar Class—you were fantastic ambassadors for Laburnum Primary School!

🌟🎬 What a fantastic day at the Sandy Carnival! 🎬🌟
A huge thank you to all of our wonderful children, families and staff who supported Laburnum Primary School in this year's carnival procession. Our "Red Carpet Ready" walking float was a spectacular success, with our superstar children shining brightly while our staff took on the role of security guards, keeping the stars safe! We even had a director and a member of the Laburnum press on hand to capture all the excitement. 🎥📸
The children brought incredible energy to the event, filling the streets with enthusiasm, smiles and plenty of noise from their whistles! It was wonderful to see such an amazing turnout from our school community, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and cheered us on.
To top it all off, we are absolutely delighted to have been awarded the **'Pride of the Procession'** award! 🏆✨ This recognition is a testament to the teamwork and community spirit that make Laburnum such a special place.
Thank you once again to everyone who helped make the day so memorable. We couldn't have done it without your support!
🏆 Congratulations to everyone involved – what an achievement for the whole Laburnum community! 🌟

This week, our Reception Class have been exploring doubles in maths. The children used counters on ladybirds and ten frames to help them calculate and recognise double numbers.
Through hands-on learning activities, they developed their understanding of doubling and built confidence in their mathematical thinking. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they investigate numbers in an engaging and interactive way.
Well done, Reception Class!

🏊♂️ Our annual swimming lessons are officially underway at Laburnum!
Come rain or shine, our pupils are making a splash, building confidence in the water, developing essential life skills, and having lots of fun along the way. 🌧️☀️
We are incredibly lucky to have our own school pool, giving every child the opportunity to develop their swimming skills in a familiar and supportive environment.
Swimming is such an important part of our curriculum, helping children stay active, safe, and healthy while creating wonderful memories with their classmates.
We can't wait to see the progress everyone makes over the coming weeks. Well done to all our young swimmers for taking part with enthusiasm and determination!
