Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Laburnum Primary School and thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. 

My name is Ben Bardell and I am exceptionally proud to be the Headteacher at Laburnum Primary School, a school that prioritises personal development and wellbeing alongside academic achievements as part of a high quality education. 

At Laburnum Primary School, our aim is to provide your children with an exceptional, knowledge-rich curriculum that enables them to know and do more over time. Our curriculum is designed to engage and motivate our pupils, making learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience that prepares them well for their next stage of education. We enhance our curriculum by providing opportunities for learning through a range of educational visits and experiences designed to broaden your child’s understanding of the world. 

At Laburnum, we place great emphasis on modelling and recognising positive values and building strong relationships of mutual trust and respect between staff, pupils, parents and governors. We have high expectations of pupil behaviour and children behave well and enjoy learning at Laburnum. Our children are polite and welcoming and are proud to be part of our school community. 

We take the time to get to know each of our children and families well and have a strong team in place to provide support when it is needed. We pride ourselves on being open and available to listen and celebrate successes and support where there are any worries or concerns. 

Our website aims to keep parents and carers well informed with relevant and up-to-date information, while also providing prospective families and members of our local community with an introduction to the values, expectations and ways of working at Laburnum Primary School.
