Policies

A link to the school Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy is available at the bottom of this page. In addition, you will also find links to our Child on Child Abuse and Online Safety policies. Policies related to safeguarding and child protection are updated annually in line with the government Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) document.

Checking and Vetting

All staff and regular visitors undergo an enhanced DBS check to work with children and a confidential record of these checks is kept on the school ‘Single Central Record.’ Compliance with vetting and recruitment checks and the recording of these is regularly monitored by the governing body.

Training and Professional Development

Our staff receive training to ensure that they can identify any safeguarding concerns and that they know what to do if they are worried. As part of their induction, all staff undertake training in:

  • Safeguarding,

  • Prevent,

  • Online Safety

  • Child on Child Abuse

All staff then receive update training at least annually.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSLs receive role specific training annually and regular updates and professional development specific to our school context.
