PUPIL PREMIUM

The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. The government has used pupils entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) or entitled at any point during the last 6 years (Ever 6) and pupils ‘Looked After’ by the Local Authority (LAC) as indicators for disadvantage. Research has shown that these pupils underachieve compared to their peers and so the Premium is designed to support them to reach their full potential.
